Elsie and I have known the Curries since our late 70's-early 80's church associations. Our first two children were born in the same time frame. We grew together for a while...

Later, circumstances separated us although we managed to stay in touch over time. When the Soviet Union fell, the Curries initiated an opportunity to serve the people of Russia in ways never permitted before. New Hope International Incorporated (NHI) was born. The Curries made Moscow their home. They are still there.

Mark and Chris initiated talks with Elsie and me in early 2003, meeting in Williamsburg VA. The Curries outlined their dreams and objectives of taking their then eight-year-old ministry to a newer level; one which promised controlled growth over time and which, like their current ministry, would stay in place to continue to minister to the needs of the people they served.

The place I would fill would assist with receiving and filing donations (still doing this...) as well as other day-to-day tasks including possible Internet launching (you are reading the fruits of that now...). Other duties were outlined, and some of those yet bear fruition.

The initial website was launched in February 2005 and is now undergoing a complete overhaul by newest member, Conrad Weaver (see ASSOCIATES). While in a state of constant flux, we hope you enjoy the site. In the meantime, since those 2003 beginnings, the mission teams have grown to include 4 full teams (2 in Russia (1 of those still pending placement), India, and the Czech Republic) as well as 2 associates in India and 2 in the United States.

I must confess here moments of feeling very inadequate to the task, but I know it is the Lord who
strengthens me and gives me the wisdom I need to succeed. The fact that He gave me a precious gift in my wife Elsie and my children who support my efforts to the Curries is an everyday reminder that I owe Christ everything. If my efforts with NHI help, then I am all the richer.
