About Angam Haokip and the Missionary Children’s Home

Vision:
To love and care for the impoverished orphans and the destitute children.

Mission:
  • To follow the example of Jesus Christ in serving the deprived and helping the needy by providing them with food, clothing, shelter and education.
To share the love of God with the children by leading them to Jesus Christ and his redemption.

About MCH:
The Missionary Children Home was founded by Rev Dr.T.L.Angam Haokip on 13th June, 2003.This home was formed to give hope to those orphans and underprivileged kids by providing the basic necessities like food, clothing, shelter and education and training them to be self disciplined. This home was the desire of Haokip to help the needy who like him have been subjected to indifferent attitude of the society. Having received mercy from God and wanting to share the same love of God and His son to these kids, he began this journey.

Founder:
Rev Dr. T.L.Angam Haokip was born in a small rural village of North East India by name Changlei. The village is in the midst of a thick forest and had neither a hospital nor a school.

Haokip’s father, who was 75 when his son was born, was the High priest of Animism Worship. After the death of his father, Haokip was taken to the Carmel Orphanage Home in Assam where he grew up and was educated. God then called Haokip to serve and educate the tribal people of Sagaing division in the jungles of Burma. Few years later he felt the need to study further and came to South India. He returned to Burma after finishing his Masters degree and continued his work among the poor and downtrodden. During his ministry in Burma (Myanmar), he was arrested by the Burmese Militants and put into prison. But God in His mercy brought him out of the prison. This did not deter Haokip and his work for the poor and needy. All his personal experiences helped to build his convictions stronger to serve those orphans and refugees who were neglected by the society.Future Plans:

MCH is currently working and praying for a land to build a home for the children. The proposed land site is around 4000 square feet, at the cost of Rs.900 per square feet.
